Cascadilla

what is a gorge

if not the throat of a river

and her thirst to touch?

grasping, grabbing

doing all she can to remember

her valleys and banks

a muscle memory made voracious

to be heard

men will always try to pacify

bring their trucks

lift ice from lake

disrupt

let them realize

what happens

when one tries to play

God

when water is harmed so is the body.
